Lake Placid Curling Club Members attend Ross Tarlton International Bonspiel

A team of four men,  skipped by Tom McKernan of Gabriels with Dave Chapin and Andrew Chary of Saranac Lake and  David Kobe of Lake Placid, has been invited to compete at The Ross Tarlton International Bonspiel.  This Lake Placid Curling Club team will be one of 16 rinks (teams) representing the Grand National Curling Club (an organization of curling clubs in the eastern US) against 16 rinks from the Ontario Curling Association (Canada).  The victors are determined by comparing the total scores of the US teams against the total scores of the Canadian teams after 4 Rounds of play.

This is an annual invitational event, with the competition held in the USA and Canada on alternating years.  This year's games will be played November 12th and 13th at the Ardsley Curling Club, in Ardsley-on Hudson, NY and at the Nutmeg Curling Club in Bridgeport, CT.  Although all of the competitors play to win, the real intent of this Bonspiel is to promote friendship and camaraderie with our northern neighbors.
