At the Lake Placid Curling Club, sportsmanship is the cornerstone of our community, starting from the first handshake to the final throw. Greet your opponents with a firm handshake and a “Good Curling” wish at the beginning of each game. As the game progresses, keep the ice clean and maintain the flow of the game by being ready to play when it’s your turn. Respect curlers and compliment good shots from all players and be prepared to sweep. Stay courteous—don’t distract opponents and help keep the game moving by placing your skip’s rock in front of the hack.
After the final stone, offer another handshake, and if you win, extend the tradition of sharing refreshments with your fellow curlers. Remember, helpful suggestions are welcome, but criticism and distractions are not. Have fun, and good curling!
